Mineral wool

Mineral wool, also known as glass wool or mineral insulation, is an insulating material used for thermal and sound insulation in construction and other industries. It is produced from various mineral raw materials, most often from quartz sand, limestone and dolomite. These raw materials are melted at high temperatures and then the fibers are drawn to form a fibrous material similar to cotton wool.

Mineral wool has several advantages that make it a popular insulation material:

Excellent thermal insulation properties: Mineral wool has a low coefficient of thermal conductivity, which means that it insulates well and maintains the temperature inside the building. This helps to reduce energy losses and heating and cooling costs.

Sound insulation: Mineral wool has the ability to absorb sound energy, which makes it an effective material for improving acoustic comfort indoors.

Non-flammable and non-flammable: Mineral wool is a non-flammable material, which means that it does not support the spread of fire. It is fire safe and is often used to increase the fire resistance of buildings.

Easy installation: Mineral wool is a light and flexible material, which makes it easy to handle and install. It can be easily cut to the desired size and shape and used in different places in the building.

Mineral wool is used to insulate walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, pipes, pipelines and other structural elements. It is commonly used in residential, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as in other applications such as insulation of industrial equipment and pipes.

This type of insulation is environmentally friendly as it contains recycled content and is renewable. Nowadays, mineral wool with a low content of formaldehyde and other harmful chemicals is also available, which makes it safe and environmentally friendly.
