Get heat from steam
A large part of the heat generated during the combustion process is contained in the steam of the hot flue gases. The principle of condensing technology is to harness this heat as well and thus achieve higher energy recovery. Heat is extracted from the steam by cooling and
condensation in a
heat exchanger and then fed back into the heating circuit. This results in high standardised utilisation rates of up to 109 %.

Warm water quickly and in sufficient quantity
When you want hot water, you prefer to have it right away without a long wait. The Logamax plus GB172 combi boiler is the best way to make this wish come true. Thanks to the practical THERMOquick warm start function, you can turn your bathtub into a pleasant, relaxing bath even when the instantaneous heater has not yet reached its full capacity. Of course, the temperature of the flowing water is precisely and constantly regulated. This prevents disturbing temperature fluctuations, e.g. when showering. Consistent energy savings
Look at this energy balance: with the Logamax plus GB172 boiler, gas or electricity is only consumed when it is actually needed. The modulating burner, for example, ensures that the
heating output can be adjusted from 23 to 100% (in the case of the Logamax plus GB172-14 variant). Even better, the new circulator needs an absolute minimum of electricity thanks to intelligent control and technology. One advantage adds up to the other when it comes to savings.
When burning fuels, a distinction is made between heating value (Hi) and heating value (Hs).
Heat value (Hi) indicates only the amount of heat that is obtained without using flue gas condensation. The heating value (Hs), on the other hand, indicates the amount of heat that is released during combustion and when flue gas condensation is used. In relation to the heating value (Hi)
this will result in a degree of utilisation greater than 100 %. Example: Due to the different hydrogen content of the fuel, the standardised degree of utilisation related to the heating value (Hi) for oil condensing boilers is about 104 % and for gas condensing boilers about 110 %. In relation to the
calorific value (Hs), both boilers achieve comparable standardised utilisation rates of up to 98 %, as the different hydrogen content is taken into account in this case.
Logamax plus GB172only consumes as much gas and operating current as is actually needed. The modulating burner ensures that the heating output can be adjusted between 23 and 100% (for the Logamax plus GB172-14 variant). Thanks to intelligent control and technology, the high-efficiency speed-controlled pump as standard has very low electrical consumption. Together with the basic control and digital boiler control, the Logamax plus GB172 consumes only 2 W in standby mode. With high part load efficiency, the gas-fired heating with condensing technology provides family homes and semi-detached houses with extremely economical comfort for heating and/or providing hot water as required.
The full range of standard equipment speeds up and simplifies the installation of the Logamax plus GB172 compact gas condensing boiler. The individually pleasant temperature can be both easily programmed and spontaneously changed on the RC310 system's clear control unit. The available
internet gateway allows the gas condensing boiler to be controlled with a smartphone or the Buderus
EasyControl app.
